I'm trying to determine if several snakes which are commonly kept as pets throughout the US are legal to keep in New York State. These snakes are rear-fanged, but are commonly sold in pet shops and at reptile shows and in other states are unrestricted and do not require a venomous permit to keep.

The species I am interested in are:

Heterodon nasicus nasicus (Western Hognose Snake)

Heterodon platyrhinos (Eastern Hognose Snake)

Heterodon simus (Southern Hognose Snake)

Heterodon nasicus kennerlyi (Mexican Hognose Snake)

Lystrophis pulcher (Tri-Color Hognose Snake)
