Posted by: Lucien at Fri Mar 2 13:10:02 2007 [ Email Message ] [ Show All Posts by Lucien ] So far I've got their husbandry, feeding, etc up to speed and now I'm looking forward to picking up a male later in the year and breeding in 18 months or so... y question is this... Is it absolutely necessary to brumate hoggies or can they/will they produce fertile eggs without brumation. My problem with brumation is this? I have nowhere that gets cool enough in my apartment to brumate them and I can't brumate outside since I live way up in the Northeast which is frozen for 6 months out of the year. So I'm wondering if its necessary and if it is... does anyone have any tips for me on how to do so with the situation I have. And no.. can't use the fridge for it. I've heard of other people doing it but...I wouldn't trust my fridge not to get too cold... And I can't believe some people actually do that anyway... not knocking anyone's practice.. if it works for ya it does.. but I don't think I could do it... so any suggestions are more than welcome... | ||
