I'm interested in picking up leopard geckos as a hobby. I've read over hundreds of leopard gecko websites and care sheets, but I'm still confused by the dozens and dozens of different bulbs, thermostats, day night timers, etc.

I planned on purchasing two or three leopard geckos and a 20 or 30 gallon tank. Calci-sand would serve as the substrate, and heat would be provided by an under tank heater (Zoo Med, to be specific) and a day night timer (one bulb for daytime, and one for nighttime).

How would I combine the day night timer with the thermostat? Do I simply plug the day/night timer into the thermostat? And what bulbs do I use for day and what bulbs do I use for night?

Help would be greatly appreciated.
