My largest female is 60g...

She is over 4 years old and produces as many as 20 offspring a year. I constantly breed females as small as 35 grams and have NEVER had a leo die from a complication from breeding.

There is no need to wait until 80 grams if you are working with non-giant morphs. At 80 grams most females would be considered obese and should actually lose weight before being breed. Obesity is unhealthy in leos just as much as it is in humans.

Read any book or article on leos and you will not see anyone recommending a minimum breeding weight of 80 grams. I've seen ridiculous things said here before, but this might top them.
