The reason the shed isn't coming off of your gecko is because of the low humidity. It's just like if you run a wood stove in the winter and get a dry throat. It's because you're dried out. Same goes for your lizard. For the stuck shed, one of the best things to do is to use a small tub, like an old butter tub or a Tupperware sandwich box. Put some paper towels in the bottom, and get them really wet, enough so there is a little bit of water above it. Then, put your gecko in, and keep it there for about 20 minutes to start. If this doesn't work, pop it back in for another 10-15. This extra humidity will loosen the skin and will allow the animal to remove the shed, and if not, you can remove the rest. But, be sure to keep the box warm. A good way to do this is to place it on top of a heat pad. Make sure it doesn't get too hot, or you'll cook your pet. Good luck, and hope everything goes well for you. [ Hide Replies ]
