Posted by: Manny at Thu Mar 29 19:45:15 2007 [ Email Message ] [ Show All Posts by Manny ] Females are the ones that usually dig burrows around this time and through the Spring, Lay eggs, and then defend their nest. Female are especially aggressive against other females during the nesting period and sometimes beyond this period. If the one that is guarding the burrow/mound chases the other one when it approaches the burrow, then the one guarding is most likely to be a female that has laid or will be laying eggs, but these are just assumptions based on your description of the situation. Pictures would help better answer your concerns, Although nesting female will tend to be aggressive towards almost anything coming near their nest including a male Cyclura, you may have two females.
