I personally would stick with the crix and then feed mealies as treats, but that's just me and i have 7 leos. Mealies have hard shells and can also have a risk of impacting your leo. They have the same amount of chitin in them as the crix so it's not better or worse for them. Liek asid before you could try and put them in another room or just getused to it. I buy the 1/4 inch crix in bulk if 2000 and thety don't have wings at all, they doo within a week. LOL You could also just sit there and pull off their wings.

It's a part of owning the herp. Sorry get used to it!
