well, March was a hectic month for me... I've successfully adopted out 3 healthy geckos, put down my poor Twinkie due to Crypto, tested EVERYONE for crypto (she was the ONLY positive, thank goodness), and got a crazy 'present' gecko from a cousin I rarely see...

Atari is getting nice and plump, and gets 'lovier' by the day :D My fiance has decided that we're her 'forever' home, he is absolutely in love with her.

Bean is our 'thickest' girl, and still REALLY hard to photograph :P She is one of our rare 'bought' reptiles, and I'm looking forward to many 'grapesoda gecko' years with her.

Fresca is all grown up, and I've got the final interview and meet-up for her potential adopter scheduled for this week. It's sad to imagine going in to feed everyone and not see her face, but she'll make such a wonderful pet for her lucky family

This is little bitty Nintendo, my newest gecko. One of my younger cousins spotted her at a local PetCo when she was picking up doggie treats for her lhasa apso, Elvis, and decided that I needed another baby :  I'm eager to see how this little one grows and changes, since they're suspiciously un-yellow

Pixel is still going strong, and we're just a few months away from his 1-year anniversary with us! He's here to stay, since he was our very first rescue, and has come so very far since we brought him home.

Tetris has been one of my most challenging rescues so far. She's tested out clean, but she's the pickiest little leo, and refuses to grow or feed regularly. She's almost 5 months old, and still the size of a 2 month old. But I'll keep working with her, and hopefully one of these days she'll figure out that it's okay to get a little fat :P She's our 'perma-rescue,' since her feeding issues make her a poor candidate for adoption.

Vee is my most voracious leo. She's an intensely focused 'hunter' and doesn't appreciate a lot of handling, but she's big and beautiful and sits still for photos She's going to be traveling to Texas to live with my younger sister this June.

Vegas is still really gangly, but she's growing! She's finally figured out that superworms and butterworms are edible, and hopefully she'll start packing on the ounces now that she's widened her diet to include more than just a few crickets a night. :D She's the crazy dark leo I purchased from VMS in January, and although her colors have changed as she's grown, she still looks different

And here are some pictures of the leos that were adopted out... Many of you will recognize these girls from past updates.

Pong, Atari's former tankmate(and one of our very first rescues) It was really tough to see her go, but her new parents are GREAT people(they made a 5-hour round trip to pick her up!), and they've promised to give me LOADS of pictures

Sega, who was with us for only a few months, went to an older lady that has been keeping beardies for 10+ years, and wanted to help one of my leos find a great forever home. This girl was one of my 'plainer' leos (if that's possible, they are all gems to me), but the lady liked her best!

Squirt went home with a really great couple who had never kept reptiles before, but they were quick learners and trust me, Squirt will want for NOTHING! I cried after she walked out the door with them, since I'd adopted Squirt when she was just a scant few weeks old, and over the past months I've watched her blossom into one of the prettiest leos I've ever seen, with one of the most 'bubbly' personalities.

And poor sweet Twinkie, who tested positive for Crypto. The decision to put her down was so hard, but I knew that she was suffering, and she's in a better place now, where she can hunt crickets and bask on warm rocks all day long

So much has changed in the last month... I'm still getting used to missing a few familiar faces (as well as recognizing the new ones), but even though it's hard to say goodbye, that's part of what makes rescuing animals worth it. Seeing my beloved little charges go home with excited new parents, and reading those e-mails full of little stories about 'what they did last night while hunting...' warms my heart and reminds me why I've chosen this particular path in our hobby.
