Sudden change in behaviour

I've had my 19 mo old male western hognose for about 1.5 months now, and so far he has been very calm. Feeding was a bit hit and miss at first, but he finally seemed to have got the idea.

Normally when I open the viv to put a fuzzy mouse in, he 'sits up' and grabs the fuzzy right away, but when I offered him one today he didnt move. I wiggled it at him and he started hissing at it and striking with his mouth closed. I decided to leave him be as he didnt seem interested, and he started crawling round and round the viv, as if he was trying to get out.

I haven't changed anything enviromentally, could he be getting ready to shed, or was he just angry at being disturbed when he wasn't hungry? He has never been defensive before.
