10 is ok, but I'd say 20 gallons is better, it makes it easier to have a hot/cold side, also, it gives your gecko more space to explore and walk around. I personally think for just one gecko as a pet, a bigger tank is better. For breeding it's different. And also I guess for young geckos 10 gallons is fine, but for an adult it might get cramped.
