Hi all, thought I would post this up higher. We have a new plan so you can disregard my post down below.

We think we are going to extend the deck out another 3 feet and put the kennel cage on there. So the floor will start out as pressure treated lumber (will simply use those u-shaped nails to attach it to the deck. Now my question to anyone who wants to think about it with me is:

What to put on top of the pressure treated lumber (decking) that will be easy to clean but be able to tolerate rain/snow/up to 4 months of freezing temps?

I have thought about tile but am actually leaning towards indoor outdoor carpeting but am afraid it might rot the decking faster if it just sits out there after a rain.

For those unfamiliar with New England weather, we have long cold winters filled with snow and ice, followed by rainy spring, followed by humid summer, followed by dry fall and back to the ice cold.

Thanks!
Carole
