I hypothesis the problem may be due to "aseasonality" and "seasonality" between the two parent species, making the crucial timing even tougher to achieve than the original one. Since you have this one almost down to a "science" ( your modest, the # of your successful breeding's is beyond mere luck and just throwing them together any ole time kinda odds )you should be able to "break" the "barrier" interfering with success, which may be related to because "so and so" said it can't be done and you have to breed it back to one of the parent species. These are not salamanders and do not follow the same rules as those types of hybrids. I think you know this already as well. I also know you think it can be done, they used to say that about Jungle Corns as well, humm, I have seen it done with them, why not these as well. I think you will prove it can be done!!!
