chain link it wasn't practical for several reasons. The first is that even large iguanas can stick their nose and part of their face thru. Because of that mine continually tried to push thru leaving rubbed marks on their faces. Secondly you can only use it for large lizards. Why not build all enclosures so as they work for any size you want to put outside. The best is 1" x 2" galvanized welded wire. I used that and had no problems...TC
