Hi everyone. Could somebody please give me an idea of what on Earth is up with my iguana? She's female (I believe) and is almost four years old and around 3 1/2 ft long, tail included. She's never laid eggs before.

Yet, for the past two months I've noticed that she's gained a bit of orange pigmentation, but only enough to notice up close. She's lost her appetite and makes a ruckus until I let her out of her enclosure. And then she proceeds to wander around the house as if she's looking for something. She's even escaped a few times! That is something that she has never done before!

So, I figured that she was maybe looking for a place to lay eggs. I read about the egg-laying boxes, and how they are made with a large PVC tube leading to a dark box of damp sand. I made one using a huge rubbermaid storage box instead of wood and I introduced her to it. Yet, she pays no attention to it and proceeds to drive me crazy going up and down her enclosure.

I'm completely at a loss at what to do ...anybody have a clue about anything I might be doing wrong? Or is this just normal adult iggy behavior? Should I be worried that she's yet to lay eggs? Thanks everyone.
