I will try to answer your post..

Free roaming igs are harder to keep in the ideal warm humid environment. If you live in an area with cold weather, the furnace and heat dries out the air even worse. More humidity and soaks in the tub would help with the stuck shed. Prior nostral rubbing injuries make this even worse.
