Yes, that was a heat rock and yes it has sense been removed, i use a heat lamp now and that substrate was temporary as i was short on doe that month and had plenty of snake substrate but i did mist the cage as well as the iguanas down daily...

anyway I've read that the mature age is around two, so then they should be fine til they are about two correct... I'm converting an armoire 70" by 40" by 22" into a cage for the two less than two foot iguanas so that should give them plenty of space til then... I'm putting in to seperate basking areas with two seperate heat lamps as well as two seperate feeding bowls...

hopefully this will limit what my be inevitable... when they reach two the summer of my junior and senior year in college i should have enough money to convert an identical armoire into another cage...
