Color: Making or developing it works the same way with paint as it does Boas. It just takes a whole lot longer due to having a limited amount of key colors to work with. I used to do the color matching of stain and lacquers in a former life. This is the key to your question Andy:







The color you have on that Boa is a very very light lavender. Lavender is primarily blue with a touch of red added. Many Boas we work with probably have lots of blue, but that blue is masked by reds and blacks that change everything. When you have a youngster like that animal that is not showing the red that will most likely inevitably come, the blue influence can be seen.



Make more of them Andy and try to make it more extreme. You CAN do it.



Here is one "purple" Boa that I have that was much more brilliantly purple than this image reveals as a baby.







I'm working on it too. I'd love to see some really purple Boas some day. Like the purple on some Albino Retics. That would be pretty neat wouldn't it? Time will tell...
