Honestly it all depends on the snake. Most tangerine hypos stay very clean, some tri-color hypos tend to get a little black tipping.

In the same manner some albinos tend to get white tipping on the edge of their scales that would be black if they were not albinos. It pays to ask questions and see the parents.

Below is a 2005 female tangerine hypo that is actually better looking now at almost 5 feet long then she was as a baby.

A 2 year old male tangerine hypo that is brighter then when it hatched.

And two four foot albinos that are the same.
I also could post just as many pics of animals that ended up with a good amount of tipping.
