I was speaking about strictly snakes.

Considering how Horn Toads eat ants, from the ground, I wouldn't use it. For that type of lizard I would probably use fine sand or maybe a plastic type of outdoor carpet.

I love horn toads...use to catch them as a kid in AZ.
