I'll agree with you for captivity. Evidence that small females get eggbound because of their size is not conclusive. In the wild, small females of other types of colubrids have been found gravid, and they lay eggs just fine. But as has been stated before, our cages are not the wild, so who knows. It could be that captive snakes do not have the best muscle tone or lack some key element.. all conjecture on my part. Better to play it safe though. Have you had small hognose females get eggbound?
