Well, I pulled out my carpet python for a thourogh mite check last night. I didn't see any, but I reapplied the provent-a-mite anyways. It looks like teh second application (about 2 weeks after the first) worked for her.

But I did find a single mite on my argentine boa. I let him soak a little in a sweater box and then I put him in a 10 gallon tank for a little bit while I sprayed his enclosure with more provent-a-mite.

Wouldn't ya know it, he decided to shed right then and there...and interstingly enough he shed in such a way as to ROLL the shed like a sweaty old sock! What a helpful guy!

Hopefully that removed the last of his mites as well...unless they jumped off and then jumped back on which I kind of doubt.

I have yet to see any mites on my smaller snakes.

Speaking of mites, is it true they sometimes hitch a ride on feeder crickets? Because I usually get crickets by the 1000 and keep them in various aquariums in the room.
I'm wondering if thats where they came from originally.
