Definitely not a prairie king. The slab-sided shape (like a loaf of bread) and slightly indented neck put it firmly in the ratsnake group, and the pattern and heavy build ID it as a fox.



Kings are more cylindrical, glossier, and have no discernible neck unless emaciated. Also, prairie kings tend to have much smaller and redder spots.
