and to end up with a Haitian Boa. What luck. Those things are awesome. I developed a fascination with them when I was about 9, working at my friend's exotic pet shop. A guy brought in a 6 foot snake beacause he didn't want it anymore, but had no idea what it was. My friend, the owner of the shop, was somewhat puzzled too until we looked it up and figured out what it was. They're not exactly the most common snake in the pet trade. I really loved it's look and pattern. One day when I was stretching inside to clean it's cage, in the top shelf of the display, out of nowhere it struck and just missed my face by about an inch. Scared the hell out of me. I actually saw the teeth fly by my eye.
I had a 1.3 group of Cubans a few years ago, and wanted to get some Haitians a few years ago, but decided to use my limited space for ball pythons and copperheads instead. Everytime I see any Angulifer or Striatus available, I'm so tempted to grab them, but just never do. Still one of my favorite snakes though. Very unique boas.
