Depending on your set-up, you probably wouldn't need to worry about temps. If you have your thermo probe in the egg box, then there are no temp. worries at all. If your thermo probe is outside of the egg box, I still wouldn't worry about the temps rising too much unless its a very large clutch. Definitely don't just leav an uncovered egg box in the incubator regardless...
I do open my egg boxes every couple of days toward the end of incubation...just to keep plenty of fresh air on the developing snakes (that require more O2 at this point), and to facilitate the natural dimpling of the eggs (and of course to check in and see if I have any heads poking out. I remove the lid quickly, remove any condensation that may be there, and replace it...all in about 5 secs...
