Think of a pastel as being "het" for super pastel. Therefore, you must mate that "het" to either another het (a pastel) or the morph itself (a super pastel) in order to get a super pastel.
If you mate a pastel (the "het for super" to a Fire (which does not carry any pastel genes) then you of course will not have any chance of getting the homozygous form, the super pastel. ----- Brad Chambers
