The chord means that they're still inside the uterus. You should be able to carefully peel off the near transparent tissue. If left on, it may suffocate the eggs. See if by tugging the chord you can loosen the tissue. I had excellent hatch rates in a couple of full term lizard clutches salvaged from fresh dead females.
