I have had a similar thing happen to a snake lately. I wondered if possibly it ingested some substrate, which caused a blockage. I usually feed outside the enclosue but this snake was very nervous and only ate when lights went out at night under it's hide. Since then all babies went on paper towel. It does happen. Some animals in nature don't make it for some reason. Was yours an albino? sometimes also animals which had a long lineage of inbreeding may have some congenital defects inside we may not see on the outside. If you have some extra cash you can have your vet do a necropsy. It may not cost all that much. I did my own to see if there were tumors or parasites. I saw none. Sorry for your loss, it does suck.
