I waited but I do not think that is an absolute rule. My female was not receptive until after a feed. When I first put them together the male chased her around and was biting her trying to hold her down. She was having none of it. I left them together and the next day gave her a f/t mouse and teased her out of her hide with it. After eating the mouse she stretched out and let him have his way. I think he agreed to buy her some shoes or something also.
