No offense, these are the random people on the internet.
Snakes require and prefer to use a range of temps, from cool to very warm. A range from 55F to 100F(basking area). With 55 to 75F being the preferred resting temps.
Most people do what people like to do, that is, average it out and make the snakes become very average.
So exactly which average you want depends on you, as its not really about the snakes. Cheers
