I have got two albino burmese pythons. I bought these a few months ago from different individuals. The male is about 8 feet and growing fast. I was told he was 2.5 years old when I got him. The female is about 7.5 feet long and I was told she was 4 years old when I got her. I know different people feed their animals less often that others and smaller amounts. I had a hard time believing the female was that old but she is very solid, she is actually as big around if not bigger than the male. I just put them together after they were quarantined and I am going to build them custom cages this summer. They both show signs of wanting to mate. The female has been opening her cloacca and rubbing it on the male and on the cage. Sometimes there is tiny blood spots. The male has been going crazy rubbing his rear on her and using his spurs to poke and prod her. I haven't observed any actual mating but the female just shed and the male has been sniffing her like you wouldn't believe. Is the female old enough and big enough to sucessfully breed without harming her or should I separate them at once? Any advice would be appreciated! Thanks!
