This sort of blows my image of what really comprises an "adult snake". As an example, Conant gives the average length for adult Florida kingsnakes as 36" to 45".
That was part of my point i mentioned to Shannon above. Field guides are way outdated and the maps are to.
Look at it this way... If a female ovulates and a male develop sperm they are ready to breed and are adults. But they still have to be 36" to legally drink. ----- Signature edited
