Well, I actually did not claim anything about wild S. GA kings-the original poster was clearly asking about captive animals, since it has been many years since wc were legal. My description applies (I think accurately) to most available captive-bred strains.
Even in the wild appearance is quite variable-some on the E. king site have nice wide bands-at least as wide as my own breeders.. ----- Brad Chambers
