Posted by: MikeinOKC at Fri May 8 14:17:51 2009 [ Email Message ] [ Show All Posts by MikeinOKC ] Well the lore I have always heard is that cottonmouths swim with much or almost all of the body on top of the water, or at least clearly visible, while the various species of non-venomous water snakes tend to swin with the head out but the body largely submerged . . . and from the photo I can't really tell how much of that snake is on the surface. I would guess at least half . . . so a coin flip? [ Hide Replies ]
