sounds about right, male you say.i've had them go two months without eating but as small as he is i'd say his cage is way to
big. i have yearling males i still keep in shoeboxes. and i know
if i moved them to something larger they'd stop eating or slow
down a lot.so you might want to try a much smaller cage.
