Due to the other pictures I have seen regarding this, it seems very likely that this is related to a spinal deformity more than being a heritable genetic trait such as piebaldism as the few that have had this were either stillborn or severely kinked in the exact spot where the white was. While it's remotely possible that this is a piebald type of heritable gene within western hognose, it might also stand to reason that there's a related kinking genetic fault that goes right along with it like some of the Caramel Balls express as currently evidenced which might account for these animals not surviving.
