vermiculite...

I tried using a different incubation method.
Instead of wetting the medium I placed a deli with water in the container.

I had some bad luck with some of the eggs in this clutch so I switched them to this method a couple weeks ago.
Although I won't be able to really tell how well this worked on this clutch I been incubating my 2nd clutches this way and I am having MUCH better results. In fact my 2x clutches usually are a little flakey compared with the 1st go round..For example 1st clucth is 20 second maybe 15 with some eggs going bad at a higher rate than the 1st clutch..but so far out of a dozen second clutches kept this way I have only lost a couple eggs..no mold or fungus are growing even on the eggs that died.

I believe hog eggs have a hard time with excessive moisture.
