Over the last few years I have had many questions from people confused as to exactly how the Extreme red thing works..so here's some clarification..I am not genetics expert although I play one online..this is the best way I can put it..


Is Extreme Red recessive or dominant....NO

Is it a line trait... yes a VERY strong line trait

Are the albino's from the Extreme red line compatible with albino's from the common line...Yes same line

What happens when you breed extreme red to other lines...

When Extreme red is bred to another animal showing and/or containing the genetics for the display of red then the trait will act very Dominant...depending on the amount of red, the offspring will show significant red carry over from the Extreme parent..but the amount displayed is directly related to how much red there is to work with in the 1st place.
So an extreme red bred to a slight red may only produce reds..where an extreme red bred to a nice red could produce some..most or all extreme reds...totally dependent on how much red there is to work with in the parents. Not all extreme reds are the same..the ones I produced few years ago are more orange than the ones today...but by the standards of then they were Extreme Red. Some turn out purple while others maintain a brick red or light red appearance...this all affects how the albino will look..the lighter brighter red..the more orange-red the albino, the darker the red.. more true darker red the albino.
But many people like the light red look of the lighter extremes over the darker reds and vice versa, so even know you may like what the parents look like..the babies may not be what your expecting..and that can be good or bad depending on your own taste and ideal of what red is and should be...LOL!!
