Yes the color is correct. She is by far the nicest I have ever seen. She was a slow starter, but has taken off quite well.
Richard Evans purchased the snake from a local kid. When the snake came in, as his employees recall, the snake was covered in a thin layer of mud and they could not tell that it was a pink. He compensated the same kid when he returned with another hognose sometime later.
Richard produced the first pinks in the early 1990's. Within just a few short years another different albino(orange) was found 70 miles north from where the first(pink) was found.
As time passed, late 1999, another albino was rumored to exist in a school science teachers' classroom. The rumor proved true(a second pastel pink) and attempts were made to purchase this snake. The teacher would not sell. Finally, the teacher was ready to sell the snake in 2004. It died the next year and never sired a clutch.
At the beginning every attempt was made to produce these pink morphs and it was believed that inbreeding had taken place to one degree or another. Standard inbreeding problems would be noticed such as neurological, mobility, and equilibrium issues. Other issues would also be suspected such as reproduction complications. As breeders recognized the beauty and potential, outcrossing would take place. Now, I believe there are stronger pastels out there than there were ten years ago.
I especially like your pastel you call berry. The purple faces are incredible.
