Like I said, my real concern would be anytime the snake was left in the car (not running or occupied) during the daytime. Temps in an unattended car can spike up very quickly in the hot summer months. One solution for that would be a backpack in which the snake could be secured and taken with you. Another option would be a cooler. (used to keep the heat out)

Where are you moving from/too? and choosing a cooler, more northerly route could help.
