The glades rat wasn't named until 1949 by Wilfred T. Nell and Ross Allen. A good friend of mine that grew up in West Palm Beach, told me he caught ratsnakes in that area that looked like the picture of rossalleni in Conants field guide. Further inland, around Loxahatchee he would see more typical looking yellow rats. | ||
