I stepped up from the Standard 4'X2'boa cage platform that a-lot of people are using for one reason... In the 2007/08 breeding season I had a couple of females that were 9' plus big girls they were okay in the 4'X2' cages, but when it came time to give birth almost all the bigger females had trouble streching out enough to make space to give birth comfortably to there babies.. The 08/09 season I stepped up with two of the 9006 racks almost 15sqft of floor space gave ample room for my bigger females to now roam the cage in comfort. I think that comfort translated into a much more succesful breeding season... I had 8 pairings that season and produced perfect litters with 7 out of the 8 and the one that wasn't so good still had viable babies, amongst many slugs. This particular female has a history of slugging out...
I think the 9506 is big enough to raise a boa up to th 6.5 maybe 7' range, but after that I would go with the 9006.. A great rack though for housing males, up and coming females and breeding the dwarf species... I can tell you this for certain though.. Once you get your first ARS rack you will be hooked.. And nothing else will meet your standard...
