I haven't found much use for live view on my Rebel XSi to be honest. I use it occasionally but don't make live view your deciding factor.

My recommendation is to find a camera with really good results at a high ISO. That factor will play heavily into how good your pictures are, especially inside. If you can get up to 3200 or 6400 with good results, your pics will kick @$$!
