Hey Zack,
I had a male Hypo that ended up with an infected vent gland a couple of years ago. Two rounds of anibiotics along with manual expression of nasty puss and fluid didn't work. The vet did a surgery to manually clean out the gland, and I followed it up with more manual expression of puss and fluid, then filling the open incision with antibiotic ointment for 14 days. When the area seemed to be free of puss and swelling the vet sewed him back up. Sadly the infection returned. The vet explained to me that the vent gland has a honeycomb structure inside that is very hard to completely scour of any infection. Hind sight tells me that I should have opted for the removal of the gland during surgery instead of just a "cleaning."

I hope that is not the case for your male Sunglow. Good luck man.
