do you use aspen or any substrate other than paper? I only ask because I had a similiar incident when I used Aspen. From his hemipenes my male pulled a bunch of it up into his vent and it became infected. If you do,take a good look down there see if any aspen is sticking out. Even with paper, they can pull up dried urates and cause an infection. Good luck. Mike Panichi
