Yes, it is very common for females to lay infertile eggs just prior to laying the remaining viable eggs. Although they can certainly lay some more infertile ones during and after too.

I suspect that you will have a fair number of good eggs though, maybe even ALL the remaining ones...who knows. But for some reason, it is quite common to see infertile eggs deposited first.


good luck, and leave her in the dark undisturbed until later tonight, then carefully peek in on her to see how things are going. I like to just lift the clear lay tubs up and look in from underneath to see if I see any eggs usually before I disturb them any.
