Like Jon said, the 50/50 is too wet unless you are using a SIM container...

The correct ratio would be 1 to .8... If you have 100 grams vermiculite you would add 80 grams of water...

For colubrid eggs I prefer to use perlite or the SIM incubation container... Eggs stay dryer... Vermiculite keeps the moisture too close to the egg for my liking...
