I agree with what you said. But at the same time comparing them to the florida kings is not a good comparison is it? Cause Floridas differ greatly from themselves. In other words when I see that picture I could say one is a north Florida Anery and the other a south Florida anery. I do understand that breedings have been done between the two and they have been proven to be different. But no such tesy has been done with the splendida has it? If it has not been tested then, there is a chance that it could be one or the other? If we crossed the Splendida with both we would know for sure. Or if we cross the Splendida with a red Florida king and then breed the babies back we would know for sure if the resulting Anery/Axanthic showed any red. My point is when there is no red to iliminate we are assuming it is Axanthic and not Anery. Maybe I got some of that Paraquat too?
