As said the pic appears male , head rub generally means its due to shed or possibly shake ectoparasites Does this snake retreat to water bowl in attempt to drown mites?
Often ive observed that mites love snakes in shed ,or do snakes automatically go through ectdises(sp.)(shed cycle) when attacked by these snake fleas , Just an observation and hope this helps my friends out there.
Eradication of mites is easy enough, dont fret ,,,many cures are avail and very effective some are not.....
