it was in early April, so recent-ish. I'll give it a go tomorrow or the day after. It'll probably the possible het though; the axanthic just went into blue *sigh*
She just scarfed a mouse this afternoon. She's come a very long way in the time I've had her--Sept. or Oct. 7 or 8 months of good feeding does wonders
If he is in the blue and she just ate. Then this time might be good to introduce them. This way the male won't be as skittish- being in with a snake larger than itself. Your female won't have interest in him becuae she just fed on sevral small mice (correct?) and the less skittsish movement dones by the smaller male 9because he is the blue he will be less likely to try and fleee, this causing a panic snake trying its way out of tghe encloser. * This 'skittish" behaviot by tghe male seems to attract/induce a snake to feeding on it. I don't know what to call it, motion attracts attention as to a food source.
If ya keep an eye on them and they get through a small period of time. They will bond. Bonding can be done in many ways and this is one method i would try. By the time he sheds ,they will be accostomed to one another (bonded) and will recogonize each other as part of there "group" and not as pedator and food.
If you female ovulates again and your male is at least 20". You have a good chance of seeing breeding sttempts.
here is an example of big mama (het pewter)with sibling visual Pewter male, copluating. As you can see in the pic, the size difference. i have even smaller males breeding with even larger females in my colony with no problems. At first i was lery , but made sure te female ate before introducing tghem and then kept and eye on them for te first few minuyes. note* A fleeying male does not indicate she is trying to eat him. If she decideds to eat him she wilol grab him like a mouse and wtap hersely all atound him. This is your indicator to step in nd seperate them. i usually throw them into a bucket of cold water LOLOL..well it works. She will reales him and then just keep them seperate until that male starts to produce viable sperm,
