Count on the fact that certain Breeders & Malcontents will *RUSH* to condemn my words, but for the animal's sake this is the minimum size.

Think of yourself living in a closet. Would a 10-gallon or 20-gallon terrarium really do for a snake over 3 feet long? Like you, they need space, movement and a chance to exercise.

Live feeding goes along way to help that condition...

Here is a link to some photos of my 60-gallon, naturalistic setups. I have a 100-gallon also, but it's quite cumbersome to move up stairs.

I like to create 3 tiers for my Kingsnakes: thick bedding for tunneling, ground level with hide spots, canopy level with climbing branches.

For Rat Snakes, I use the last two levels. They don't seem to care much for burrowing, and are not likely as fossorial.
